Its a great engine and I would recommend doing what I did to mine back in the 70s. 067 cam, true duals and GTO intake and carb. I routinely got over 20 mpg on trips and had no problem blowing past trucks on the interstate at 90+ when passing.

As a guy who went 11.90s at 118 on factory drums for a very long time I can tell you they are pretty good brakes and best part is there’s very little drag. Many old (69) race cars usually used drums for that very reason.
I’d give that a shot first and see what you think. That’s an awesome car In Amazing condition. I’d change as little as possible if it were me Very very nice find. Best of luck with it.

I had a '65 LeMans with manual drums. Car stopped great. If you do the disc front, do them in OEM not aftermarket. Leave the mechanicals stock and just detail it up. Great find!
