I've used both and in my opinion, metal is worth the extra money.

There was a thread on this a few months ago. Most preferred metal but at least a couple of people had the plastic and said they were very happy with them as I recall.

Thanks Greg,I thought I remembered a post like that, but of course I couldn't find it.I'll probably go with the die cast,I'd hate to get the plastic and then decide that I should have gotten the other and be out an extra 200.00 Thanks again guys,
Tim

I have seen some plastic housings that were a little warped and not perfectly straight....also you have to modify grounding for the rear lamps....use the metal ones.

In March 2021 I bought a set of the reproduction metal housings and was very disappointed.

Except for not being painted correctly (shown in the photo with the red X), my general impression when taking them out of the boxes was great. Then reality set in. First of all someone did a hack job of grinding the edges of the bezel before applying the black paint. Then when I placed a lens into it I discovered that neither an original nor a reproduction lens fits it very well. The lens rocks back and forth due to touching in the center and having a sizable gaps on the ends.

More than 10 hours was spent carefully grinding on them to make the lens fit the bezel, then grinding the bezel to fit the body, and finally repainting the black areas.

That looks like a nice car. Mayfair Maize is a favorite color for me. My first 68 was that color.

I see Inline Tube sells metal die cast bezels. Anyone have any experience with those?
