Default 64-65 block question

I have two WT 389 GTO blocks that I want to post for sale, but can't be sure of the casting date on either one, to me the numerals 5 and 6 look alot alike. The casting # 9778789 is on both blocks, but one block has the larger numerals. Is this a difference between 65 and 66 blocks, or maybe cast at differnt plants? I'll try and post pictures tomorrow and hopefully I can get a definate answer. Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum!

# 9778789 were used for both 1965-66 production and since all engine blocks were cast at Pontiac Plant #9, NO difference, other than the digits may have been larger on the 1965 units.
FWIW.

After church today, I'll post a couple of close up photos and maybe someone can read the dates. Thanks for the info. Dave

I'm having trouble posting pictures. It's asking for a URL. It won't let me browse to pull photos off my computer. Any ideas on how to do that?

Scroll down and click on managed attachments. This has recently changed. Then browse and upload. "Bill"!

You have to scroll down past the message box to the "additional options" box then click on "manage attachments".

Here's the other block. I think they're both 1965 dates, but I want to be sure before I list them for sale.

I think they are both 5's also. In the first pic the 5 has a sharper upper left corner than the 6 to the left of it.

Ok, that's what I'm going with. I put them in the classifieds, hopefully I can find a buyer. Thanks!
