Default Mecum Indy

Anyone at the Mecum auction today who can report on the 69 Judge that bid up to 52K?
http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_de...e=&startRow=81

It looked really nice.

Chris, were you watching a Mecum replay? I was there and didn't see that car. I did see it last year though.

Chris, I got fooled by that as well. I wanted to watch Scotts car go through but they were not broadcasting live today. I think they may show it tomorrow but hard to tell?

They're showing a tape delay tonight (or in the morning) @1am on NBC Sports channel. They did the same thing last night and some of their 'heavy hitter's' were featured during that time. Maybe bulletproof's 70 will be on there.

Not so nice in person, apparently. I didn't see it but another guy did. He said the car was a train wreck.

Another train wreck that I did see in person was an Espresso Brown M21 RAIV GTO -

http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_de...=SC0514-189782

Advertised as correct WW block, so not a numbers car. Not much to go on with this one; no owner present, no PHS posted, minimal details in the auction listing. Body is ROUGH. I still want it, of course, but sure would be scared about stripping the paint to see what's underneath.

Bid was $35k. Don't know if that was real money. Worth $25k, in my opinion.

OVERULED, the atoll judge should have been let go at that price. The dash was a buckled mess, not the pad, the actual metal, signs of really poor workmanship at some point during the Resto. The car had a 71 tail panel, it had a 70 shelf in the trunk so once again signs of poor workmanship. I think the owner wanted 55-65. He was a nice guy, I don't even know if be noticed the glaring issues... Before it went on the block he asked what I thought it was worth, I said a perfect one would do 65-70 and this car was at least 15k from perfect... His response was "Where do you see 15k worth of work needed". Lead me to believe he wasn't seeing what Doug and I saw... My employees all went up on Wed and they picked up on the same stuff. The level of detail was not there either. A lot of wrong hardware, blatant spray paint... Nice driver.

That car passes from dealer to dealer and auction to auction... Seen it 3 of the past 5 years at Indy. Roof has substantial damage, poor bodywork everywhere, signs of mud in roof at rear edge of drip rails... 10-12 inches forward and 1-2 inches up the roof on both sides. Older paint with alot of flaws. No detail components at all. At least someone has thrown seat covers on interior... Car needs a complete Resto. Not even a driver quality car IMO.

Anyone want to hear about the other Pontiacs? I haven't scratched the surface! Scott's car was so far above most of them they shouldn't have been on the same runway!
