Photos of 1972 455HO intake installed / heat riser to heads
Anyone have photos they can post of their 1972 455HO intake manifold installed with cast iron exhaust crossover underneath so I can see how that crossover looks mounted to the heads. I seem to have a gap to the holes in the factory round port heads when the OEM iron crossover is on there. Unsure how it is to look.... Last edited by 65madgoat; 02-26-2024 at 01:23 PM. |

Those heads have a blind hole above the center heat passages - if that is the issue.
Its just a blank hole that does nothing . Picture from eBay to illustrate. |

72 455HO
The open hole in the head above the crossover is correct.

The open passage above the exhaust crossover port that leads to nowhere has an actual purpose.
That purpose would be to isolate the hot upper wall of the exhaust crossover port from the the oil underneath the valve cover, aong with confusing home mechanics in the future of course. As long as the exhaust crossover ports in the head and intake line up and seal that other open hole matters not.
