Default 8.2 posi unit for high gear

posi unit for high gear ratio. I believe its fits from 256 to 336.
Posi worked good. Cones will fit in my 4 spider gear unit.
$200.00 Firm {Worth saving for parts}
The 4 spider gear unit is not for sale,just compare gear depth.

Just for clarification, the 2-series 2.56 posi unit shown above only fits 2.56 and 2.78 gears and will not fit any gears up to the 3.36 ratio.

There are 3 ranges of gears that all fit different 8.2" posi units (or open differentials).

2-series - 2.56 & 2.78
3-series - 2.93, 3.08 & 3.23
4-series - 3.36, 3.55, 3.73, 3.90, 4.11 & 4.33

Good luck with the sale.

I'm really not familiar with the numbers on these units, but it is certainly either a 2 or 3-series unit. The 4-pinion posi was only made in 4-series, and the difference is easy to see in the pictures.

Youre welcome, I didn't want to see either of you (or anyone else) have trouble doing a deal with a part that was not properly ID'd as to the application.

Is there a 101 102 or 103 cast in the carrier? How many bolts are holding the case halves together, 6 or 8 (looks like an 8). Stood on a very flat surface as positioned in image, what is the dimension up to the ring gear flange? Condition of spiders and side gears?

I am on the watch for a good series 2 posi unit to work with my 2.78 gear. A bit confused- is that what you have? What gear was on it? Is that what the other posters are looking for?

I wrote wrong its about .375 or 3/8 difference from other carier. And it has 8 bolts that splits carier not 6. I will take more pics and split carier to see what cones and gears look like and i will post pics.
