Having a Dad who is 83 & bad knees from being a truck mechanic in a GMC dealership all his life, I can see both sides of this issue. Me personally though, I believe the ONLY people who should be able to use carts are those who have a handicapped placard in their car. Unfortunately these days Laziness & Gluttony are considered handicaps so they are much easier to get Over the past 3 years of attending, I have seen many examples of people in carts paying way too much attention to the parts for sale & not where they are going! The older I get the more mellow I get, but last year some goofball who was NOT watching where he was going came very close to my breaking point. Thanks all for the tips, we are really looking forward to it. Going to wing it on the golf cart thing, probably will regret it but at least we will know for next year! Our big meet at texas motor speedway is like 18 linear miles of spaces so we're used to walking. But then again it's easy to make good time when it's 90% chevy stuff

OK,get a ride to the pit side, hit it and then start walking toward the starting line grabbing lunch there(no matter what time it is!Walk around to the vender area for awhile and then go up toward the stands and the swap starts there. After you walk that area plan on being back toward the stands and food area.Grab another meal and then walk toward the car show area,by then you will be kind of wasted and be looking for your car.Have fun!Tom

First time going this year and staying in Wilson fence row camping. How does the camping work with Linders lot and getting in. What time do they start letting in the campers? Leaving after work Thursday and getting there late Thursday night from Maryland. I take it no electricity on fence row but can I run a generator, and is there certain time I cant run the generator? Would there be a place to get water if needed. They have showers but you need to buy a ticket or is that just for NHRA events. It was confusing reading the survival guide to Summit motorsport. Seemed like it was mainly for NHRA events.
Will there be food vendors there as well. How bout alcohol, can you walk around and drink? |
