I have a nOS one in the box. Not cheap. Exact replacement, not the superseded One w/ extra port on. I wouldn’t use a used one, when the screen rusts out, all the pellets get sucked into the carb.
Don’t worry About the shipping, lol.

i appreciate the response. NOS is probably not the option for my car. was a 403 now a 400. trying to make it correct it enough to get past emissions test in Pittsburgh.
thanks Bryan

17056978 is correct for either the Pontiac or Oldsmobile engine.

New in the box bro. Or Put a used one on, when all the pellets go in your carb, it’s a fun day.

Nothing like nOS very hard to find part. I’m sure there’s tubs of rusted out used ones.

There is a cheaper way to go, the canister fir the GN Fits, and is a superseded part, they were like $45. It even comes with a plug for the extra port. Look for one, I bought the last one year one had on the shelf when mine went. I was told it has charcoal wadding in, not pellets too.

couldn't you drain everything out the bottom of one of these, and close it back up?

I mean it's really only there to pass the visual part of the inspection, odds are none of the kids doing the inspections know how or what to do about them... isn't it like a hollowed out cat - if it passes the sniffer, and it passes the visual inspection, you should be good to go right?

yes i could. if i couldn't find a functional one that was my plan. probably will end up with BB's in the hoses anyway. i wish thats what i would have done to begin with when it went bad. instead i put a '72 manifold on with no egr and a spring choke and got rid of all the old stuff. i figured it already had an emission sticker on it and if you go less than 5k miles its exempt. Then my daughter and her friend to a 6k mile trip in it. i used to have an inspection station but thats no longer the case.

Yes it is the 4 port, I hear nothing rattling around in there. It has two little clip brackets and it bolts to the bottom. PM me your address, I'll send it to you. No money just pay it forward.

If you go with a used one, I’ve seen guys put a lager riding lawnmower fuel filter in the purge line, you can’t tell if the screen is rusted out unless you cut it open.
The later one has wadding in I was told.
