Default Winter, that time when you have time to plan all the things you are not going to do

I had plans, yes I surely did. Take rear axle off, full overhaul, new front suspension bushings, shock absorbers, You know, all the stuff you noticed during summer that needs attention.

Well, this is the reality Have a garage with 2-pillar lift but a Ford is taking the space so looks like we are going through another summer with what we have

Put it there in autum to prevent water leaking in. Window seals not in best shape anymore. Windows are a bit open and have moisture absorbers inside.

Often when I started gathering the information to start one of my winter projects I will get sleepy and take a nap.

Wanted to have my 389 back together by now. Sent the short block to the machine shop over 2 months ago. They haven't even started it yet. It was going to give me something to do this winter. Looks like a spring project now. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be a summer project.

It's in decent condition. Of course many places needs some attention but it got me to work and back without any problems last year.

I have a Ford Custom 500 '64 going through a full frame off restoration so it's taking all the space in my garage but I already found a warm place for my Bonneville for the next winter.

First decent snow in my area (a bit over 2 inches).

No need for the snow blower.

Not this kid. I've got my projects carefully laid out and I can hardly wait until it's at least 50 degrees consistently. Hopefully sunny, that makes a big difference being outside when it's marginally warm. It's not just our classic to work on. I've got my '07 Tundra that needs a couple small things and maintenance. My '10 Venza needs a new rear wheel bearing. It's driving me crazy. Especially knowing that I could change it tomorrow if I had a garage. But anyway, I'll be saving a ton of money again, so I'm trying to stay positive. It'll likely be months before I have the opportunity to do the work.

Little over an inch here on top of the Ohio Valley this morning. It made the drive to church a bit “interesting” since the county highway department hadn’t clear the hill in front of our house(5% grade). Had to put the Forester in “X Drive” for the first 100 feet, but after that it was smooth sailing.

Tell us more about the custom 500. My co-worker just bought a super nice 4 door. He went and looked at the car was thoroughly impressed how nice it was. He bought it, it was also exactly like a family car he rode in as a child. It has a 352 4 barrel engine/ automatic transmission. I was surprised on the 4 barrel...

That Bonneville is awesome!!!

Well, mine has a 352 4 barrel, too + Cruise-o-Matic, 9-inch rear. The story goes, some south-American country (Nicaragya, Argentina) ordered 50 Customs for police use but at the time of shipping, some civil unrest started so they didn't accept the cars anymore so instead they arrived to FInland where local Ford-deler took and sold those car here. Can't really confirm this story but that's the legend.

V8-cars were quite rare at that time here in Finland so after use and abuse, the valuable V8-engines went to drag racing cars etc. so very few 4-door Customs survived.

I bought mine first time 27 years ago, when I at my 20's, drove it few years and sold it to a friend. Very rusty at that time so he took it apart and left it under a tarp for 20 years. I moved back to my home town and met him at the local grocery store and asked if he still had it. He had and I asked him to sell it back half seriously and he said 500$ and it's yours.

So, I owned it once again and now been fixing it for a few years. The frame is done and currently working on getting the body back to shape. Replaced trunk floor pan and trunk extensions, under rear seat floor panel and the whole floor panel and lower part of the firewall, inner rocker panels. Now working on getting the outer rocker panels back. All sheet metal came from AMD. Goal is to get body and frame joined this spring.
