Default How to measure a torque tube?

I have 6-7 unmarked torque tubes from long-gone cars. I know one of them is from a 326 automatic, another is from a 3-speed 63 car, but I don't know which ones.

The 326 automatic tube is supposed to be 73.54" long. But it's curved, the bolt plates on the ends aren't parallel, so when I measure it, I measure from where to where, top to top? Bottom to bottom?

If you know where the part numbers are I will start cleaning off the dirt.

Auto trans tubes dont have an inspection/service cover on them. Manual trans does.

Default torque tube size

1963 tubes: 4 cylinders had .054" torque tube thickness, 8 cylinder torque tubes were .090" thickness. All '63 tubes were 73.54" length. (per 63 Chassis shop manual)

1961 tubes were all .054" thick and 76.18" in length. (per 1961 Chassis shop manual)

Plus what Keith said!
