I got to review some weights on various Pontiacs recently and the 76 T/A seems to need to go on a serious diet. I weighed mine at the track and it is running close to 4000 lbs with me in it. The older T/As seem to be at least 300 lbs lighter.

Has anyone weighed their 76 T/A? I'm wondering if my car weight is abnormal, but after removing and installing the bumpers, I think I know where the additional weight is coming from.

New track times: Thursday I turned a 13.767 @ 102.30, not too bad for my overweight T/A. But I see a 104 run in the future.

Dave

Dave 4K is about right if your car has any options on it. My 77 is as bare bones as you can get (only tilt wheel and an 8-track for options) and it was over 3600 W/O me...
BTW: We are planning on going to DeSoto this Sunday, if you can make it. Your MPH shows you have a few ponies under the hood, You need to find some traction.

If I can get out of painting the house I'll try to show up.

BTW, you're welcome to drop by since I'm a few minutes off Exit 37 on 75 if I don't make it.

As far as older cars go, you're in good company. My '72 weighed 3990# with me in it, and that was back when I was 30 lbs lighter than I am now. In it's current stripped down condition (no trim, grilles, AC parts, or interior other than front seats and dash) it weighs 3860 with me in it.
