Good question!! Held for ransom probably knows the answer for sue, but I can tell you that I also have a 74 bird with the deluxe interior and I think the pattern of the fabric is different. I believe the seats will physically bolt in, but i'm not sure if you are going after the correct look or just replacement. My 2 cents worth

The patterns are definately different. Although the cores between Firebird standard and Ventura/GTO custom looks to use the same parts (but I haven't checked seat tracks yet).

Seat tracks are not the same. You need to use Ventura/GTO units (May be able to use Nova, Omega or Apollo seats). The width between the tracks are 13-1/2" center-to-center for the 1974 Firebird/Esprit/Formula and Trans Am vs. 11-1/2" for the '73-'75 Ventura/'74 GTO (book shows seat tracks the same on X-bodies thru '81).

Thanks for the feed back, most everyone I have spoken with believe that the pattern isn't the same. Held for ranson is a good phrase for a pontiac owner, on virtually every part we pay more.

Why were you trying to put Firebird seats in your GTO? Is it a conveinence issue or for looks? Just curious!?!?

My seats are trashed in the GTO, cannot find any repro, or any in decent shape. I was curious if the same pattern and seat had made its way into the firebird. I have a few people who say they can do the seats, but just not completely comfortable with having them do them.

74,
I had a set of seats done a few years ago that came out very nice. The pattern for the seat sides is different than the back rest or cushion area. Finding the pattern was difficult, but worth the wait. If you would like information on the shop who did the work please e-mail me.

Unchained.

I haven't forgotten about the seats, just been busy and haven't gotten out to check them! I will see what I can do this week!
