Now that the rear window is done. I did a little more work to the roll bar. I added brackets for the seat braces and seat belts.

This was my first try at making a mold. It got the job done. This was for one of the two brackets that attach the air dam to the front bumper.

Here's the air dam with the brackets attached. The right side is the homemade bracket. And the air dam on the car.

Alvin, thanks for posting that article. The Pontiac Aero Coupe really does stand up to it's name. Too bad Pontiac didn't take the extra step and put the 305 HO in the motor bay. The turbo would have made this car a high dollar collectable.

Hey Mike, the front spoiler had a plastic support that went basically inside the bottom.
It's hard to see when installed but did provide support at highway speed. You might want to look into it because the air pushes the spoiler down if not supported in the middle. |

Mine didn't have one either but when I had it painted years ago the shop was able to get one from Pontiac.
I still have it and could take a pic if you need one. You can actually lift the center of the spoiler to check it's that flimsy. |

mrrat1, I had a chance to check my other Aero Coupe today. There is nothing attached to the middle area of the air dam. So when you get a chance could you post that bracket. thanks Mike

OK Mike will do.
It's a pretty simple design made from plastic. There are 3 uprights that attach to back of bumper. One in the center, one on each end of the support. The support is almost a duplicate of the center section of the spoiler. They lay one on top of the other. To get a good pic I will have to jack up the front. I'll work on that tomorrow! |
