1963 radiator support
OK, I’m slowly getting my ‘63 Safari back together but since I completely disassembled in almost 10 years ago, I’m missing stuff and forgetting some things.
Here’s a question. What attaches to the small lip at the bottom of the radiator support? Right below where the inner fender well attaches. One side is pretty thin and I’m wondering if I need to fix that or not.

On my 63 Bonneville, the inner fender well sits across the top of that lip.
I hope this helps, James Q

The inner fender bolts on above that but I think I figured it out. I believe the front of the fender bolts on there so I need to replace that section. I am not doing a restoration so the extra little stuff doesn’t matter but holding on the fender does!
See more pics below. You can see where the inner fender bolts on. The large hole at the end of the lip bolts to the fender I believe but it’s very weak. Don’t want to blast and paint and then find out I need to do a repair. Thanks James, I’m sure I’ll be posting up more questions as I go.

You are correct! I looked up under the inner wheel well and the front fender does bolt to the radiator support at that hole.

I believe that lip was for a rubber baffle/gasket that tucked up behind the bottom of the front bumper on factory A/C cars. The idea was to help force more airflow that came through the bumper openings, past the condenser.
