I can’t comment on the serpentine systems, but I can say that CVF has some of the best customer service I’ve ever come across.
I finally got to installing my crank pulley I purchased over a year earlier from CVF (it was on eBay but through CVF). Upon install I had alignment issues and contacted them with measurements I took and also gathered from members here. We ironed out the whole ‘68-‘70 spacing issue and they had the correct pulley show up at my house in 2 days without even telling me. They told me to toss the first one in the same box with the prepaid return label and mail it when I had things sorted out. I believe they updated their listings for the pulley ASAP. Outstanding people there. |

When I was installing my kit I dropped the ac unit and it slightly chipped the ear. I thought we’ll that sucks but went on. When I went to tighten it it snapped off. I called CVF assuming my bad id have to buy another. Nope they sent a new compressor and told me to chunk or sell that one. Didn’t even want a pic

Olds blocks never went to serpentine setups, they were v-belts until they were discontinued after 1990. The serpentine setups for their cars only came on the Chevy blocks. |

Anyway, still don't see the purpose for a sprung tensioner on a V belt setup. Would like to see a pic of how that was done. .

I've heard of guys grabbing the serpentine system from the Olds Diesel V-6 and using it on the gasoline V-8s. Never tried it, never seen it--but I've heard stories.

The 350 diesel was a v-belt engine. Only the 4.3 v6 diesel came factory with a serpentine system, but good luck finding one of those. People have put together setups based off of late '80s GMC trucks, but that's hit or miss on how well it works.
