Default 1959 389 Complete - Rebuildable - Local Pickup in So Cal

Making room in my garage so it’s time to let go of this 1959 389. This one is a 2-bolt main 2-barrel 280 hp version, 99% complete. The early 389 blocks are great for a performance build, the cylinders can be overbored quite a bit more than later blocks plus they have a reinforcements rib cast into one side of the oil pan rail. I will also throw in the original 1959 automatic transmission if you want it.

That is a great price and a perfect upgrade for any 1955-58 Pontiac as it bolts in directly. Yes, the blocks make great high hp engine builds as they are among the strongest production blocks Pontiac ever built. Much stronger/heavier than anything Pontiac built, production wise.
