No A/C with 3rd gen 1le. The closest you could get was a GTA which came with A/C plus everything the 1le did except the bigger front brakes. My 90 GTA is like that - the brakes look slightly odd since the rears are bigger than the front.

Actually the Firehawks were 1LE with A/C cars and are so far the only documented ones we have. I have heard that there were some 89 1LE's that had A/C but so far no proof has been presented.

I bet that car was not built in sequence but assigned a VIN and batch built with the other 4, but I have been wrong before. Cool info Boss, thanks for sharing.
You may be right, that is a very early VIN number to have been built on one of the last days of production. The 1990 model year ended December 31st and the 1991's were produced throughout the 1990 model Calendar year and through the first half+ of 1991.

I also find interesting the airbag delete - I wonder how that made it through the system although I don't believe they were federally mandated at that point were they?

Edit - reading the invoice further, Priced 08-14-89 - could that be when the VIN was assigned?

Firehawks, 89 TTA and B4C Camaro cars were 1LE with A/C.
I have heard of 1 92 formula with A/C and 1LE but nothing of the 89s.

It would have to have been a B4C Police Package RS Jerry, to date, no Z28's with 1LE have been identified with A/C. But yes, desirable.

That's a decent (read low) price for a non service B4C/1LE car and I'm sure a blast to drive. The 92's also benefited from the new panel adhesives and were a more stable ride.

That Camaro may be a good buy at that price. Won't make millions on it but I could see the value going up down the road.

I see low mile non 1le cars going for that. I'm surprised that no one has hit the BIN.

Pics are of the hood - it says it's aluminum but it's really unobtainium.

You're one to talk!

Still on the trailer, heading to the guy that does all of the circle track decals around here.

Car is in the shop to get the stripes painted, wheels refinished and the cracked windshield replaced. Decals will be next.

I like them but prefer the 5spd/G92 ones because of the better gears and cam compared to the TPI/auto version which is just a cruiser.

If you are looking for a rare convertible, find one of the 1989 L98 350 Formulas/TA/GTA cars, far lower production and you will never find a 5.7 in a Camaro drop top.
