Drove that route several times in my 1973 Buick Stage 1 GS and a 1969 SS Chevelle from Syracuse NY to Kingman Arizona, and to Vancouver WA everyone in their lifetime should do at least 1 coast to coast in a automobile.
Beautiful trip to make.

Stuart

I responded to your post about gas stations not having charging stations. If a Kwik Trip station in an 'isolated area around Rochester' (which is right off the Interstate 90 Rochester exit - which really isn't 'isolated' as it's close to Rochester which has the 3rd largest population in the state) has one, I'm sure that there are others - especially in areas that are more EV friendly.

I know that some people consider the midwest to be flyover country, but lots of people live and travel on I90. Some of them even have EV's....

Look, I'm not trying to defend the EV industry, just stating the facts. I continue to drive my gasoline powered cars and don't have any plans to change.

I recently watched a video from the Aging Wheels YouTube channel where he showed the difficulty in making a road trip in his personal Polestar compared to a rented Tesla; he had no issues making the trip in the Tesla, while finding charging stations for his Polestar was problematic - many of them weren't charging at full capacity or were out of order. Conversely, he did another video several months ago where he and a friend did a road trip to a different destination in a Hyundai Ioniq 5, and that time they had no issues finding a charging station that was open and working at full capacity. It shows where you live and where you want to travel to can make a big difference. For some people an EV makes sense, for others it doesn't. it's as simple as that.
Not a through the heartland trip but more of a 12000 mile perimeter trip including into Canada. father / son,
in a Tesla MYP.

The bidet administration, the media, and the auto execs were pushing evs just as hard as the naysayers were saying they are worthless.

Most people with a brain know the truth is somewhere in between. Just as not everyone wants a pickup truck, or not everyone wants an economy car, or not everyone wants a sports car, the same is true for electric cars.

There are times my comfy sedan works perfectly for my drive, and there are times it won't cut it and I need a truck.

In our personal situation, an electric car makes a lot of sense to have as one of our vehicles, but I wouldn't want it as the only one. Luckily I have 9 to choose from, and only one of those is electric.

Some people want them, but not all of us. I would consider a plug in hybrid as a second vehicle.
And if the price comes down far enough because many EV’s are being dumped who knows, maybe that could be an option?

I disagree. . I have other cars so a long trip doesn’t matter to me for the telsa but I have yet to have any issue finding a charge station. And my Tesla will destroy anything I’ve come up against. This has included Ferraris , lambos. The best from Maserati, BMW Mercedes hellcats. And I have the SUV. The thing is amazing!! I find it VERY hard to believe that a hyundai is beating a Tesla at anything .

If so it’s the one route in America that’s true on lol everyone is trying to Cancel Tesla . It’s still the best and most game changing car ever built . It’s like Kleenex Vs tissue. It’s the one it’s the original - and it’s by far the best EV .

And this is fro. A guy who HATED EVs. . My hellcat is a nasty beast and I wish I never bought my hellcat I wish I bought a model S plaid instead. 11.50 VS 9.19 no comparison.

Fast street cars are becoming extinct.
Being fast is the last thing most consumers care about.
It's like comparing a bracket racers car to a top fuel funny car,1 blast fun .
Didn't you're comments get our other lectric car thread locked......
Give it a rest,
you're just repeating the same thing over and over.

My comments got it locked lmao yeah that’s what happened. Why because I said it’s the SD421 of today. Yeah fast doesn’t matter anymore yeah if you’re 80 maybe . Then why do you prefer a RAIV over a 1 barrel 6 popper? Why is it worth more?

Just your little hate Tesla fest is ok. But I can’t say how much I like my car ? Get lost. It’s your hate that got the last thread closed.
Not my accurate description of my ownership or of my car. . Boo hoo you might have to deal with an opposing view.

Typical, people can’t handle an opposing view , That’s just Pathetic .

That's all either side is doing...

Side 1:
- there's no infrastructure
- they're worse for the environment
- range anxiety

Side A:
- they'll save the planet
- it's the wave of the future
- they're faster

Blah, blah, blah... neither side has anything new - even me. I'll repeat:
- they're not for everyone.
- in some situations they make sense
- if they don't make sense for you, don't buy one

Closed.

In the future let’s please use the Club House for all EV discussions that eventually turn into arguments about politics, government mandates and general usefulness of EVs.
