Default 9mm ammo

Was in my local hardware store and they had 1000 round cases of blazer 115 gr fmj aluminum case for 299.99. Didn't need anymore but I couldn't pass up the good deal. Figures to 14.99 a box. I've shot over the years many rounds of blazer in different calibers and never had a failure to fire. I don't reload so I'm fine with aluminum but don't use any steel case.

I thought all of it had been bought up by the Alaskan Dept. of Agriculture.

I thought it was a good price considering the times we live in at the moment.

Nothing wrong with steel case ammo. It's a little harder on the extractor that aluminum or brass, plus absolutely needs to be stored in a cool dry place.

I just put it in Mility ammo boxes and shove it under the reloading bench. Even so have pulled out some that started to get a funky coating on it which required wiping it all off before use, but it had been down there for at least 20 years......

Al cased Blazer is great when you don't want to pick up brass! Probably why I don't have too many semi's. Brass is a precious commodity 🙂

SharkCoastTactical, here in my city, is making their own after all the price hikes. Shoots well and is reasonable. 1K seeds for $299

I haven't seen/bought/fired Al-shell Blazer, but the 115 gr brass-shell that Blazer I have run thru my Walther PPQ has been fine, and a lot less sooty than the Winchester (white box) I've tried.

I’ve run probably 200 rounds of the CCI Blazer Brass through my GI Expert (.45 ACP) and my CZ83(.380 ACP). It isn’t the most accurate ammo in the world, but it is great training ammo and gives you good quality brass to reload.

The indoor range I shoot at (pistol, 50 and 75 yd) prohibits steel and aluminum case ammo. The brass scrap is a profit center for them. They inspect your guns and ammo when you check in too. I reload some rifle but 9mm isn't worth the effort even at brass cased ammo prices.

From what I've saw over 20 years as a Small Arms Instructor was that every pistol in my Armory shot better than the guy (or gal) holding it.......no matter what ammo I gave them!.........FWIW.......

Cliff, Blazer Brass has distinctly larger groups than the standard ball ammo I used in both pistols I mentioned. I normally use PMC or Norma ball for practice.

Ive probably got at least 4 different brands of good quality pistol ammo and dont notice a difference in accuracy between any of them. Maybe its just me. I do notice a big difference in accuracy in what pistol Im using though. Much more accurate with my 8" 357 than with my 3.1" 9mm shield plus which is to be expected. Ask hickok 45 if he notices a difference in pistol accuracy in ammo brand,,,,I bet he doesnt. Id like to shoot the bigger caliber pistols more but the price hasnt moved much. Kind of expensive.
