4.25 hours, well, not many body shops are well-versed in mechanical stuff, especially non-chevy GMs.

I got the Phoenix Graphics, Blue Stripes. I’ll be finishing the car. It’s not a problem with them. It’s just, I’m out of money and can’t be paying 4-5X full Mitchell Labor manual costs for mechanical. 4.25 for belts is insane. Water pump on a 400 with A/C, P/S AND Air Pump Pays 2.3. I try to be fair. But I’m a 40 year veteran and I know what this stuff pays. And it ain’t custom or made of gold. So…. I’ll finish it.

You don’t qualify for Paint jail….Now just have to wait for that first scratch.

First show of the year yesterday. Cool little small town event where they block off a street and line up 100+ cars. Only 2 other Pontiacs, the GP was a 4spd

Less than two years isn’t that bad!

I swore I wasn’t going to buy another car that needed paint…. But I’d did. Hopefully it’s only a month or so since there is literally no body damage or rust

Feel fortunate to have gone from metal work to finished paint in about two years actual time. The difficulty has been in the last three years of labor and experience shortages at the shop for the actual reassembly. Covid issues forced them to put the car in storage for two years. Recent progress though should have it on the street again by the end of October.

Looks great. I didn't know they used the carriage bolts on hose front bumpers.

Did you consider the GT stripe in blue?

This is a 70 Lemans with a painted chrome bumper. Hence the carriage bolts. I’m going with the blue Judge stripe as per compromise with the Mrs. I did get to show her once in all white. She was a big hit. Kept hearing folks say; “ Wow! My brother had a Cutlass just like that!” I might should have left a badge or two.
