70 gto hood pins
I guess Ive never looked into it but heard they werent factory available even though theyre installed on sales pamphlets and in my 70 pontiac GM assembly manual they show them. Anybody know the skinny on this? I dont know why they would show in my assembly manual if they were only dealer installed but Im not an expert on how this stuff went down back in the day.

Good Q. I have been putting hoodpins on since the GM stock photos showed the 70 GTO with them.
Annnnnd, not sure if i ever bumped into a 70-72 GTO with factory hood pins. |

Having lost my original hood at around 75mph to failed hood latch, I had my body shop install 442 Olds hood locks on my '71 now that I have a fiberglass replacement hood. I never liked the look of the hairpins and lanyards.

Hood pins were part of the GT-37 package, that's why a drawing is in the Assembly Manual. As seen here, http://www.gt-37.org/gallery/picture...22/category/40 hood pins were a dealer installed option.
