Default Rear axle question....10 bolt

Looking at replacement axle listings...for 77 Trans am....with 8.5

apparently 8.5 and 8.2 they are interchangeable....but 8.5 appears to be 1/8" longer than 8.2...

Is that the only difference?

yeah, i believe so. This is what i installed in my car when i rebuilt my rear. I couldn't beat the price... it's the same setup found on RockAuto for more.
