1964 Catalina/Bonneville/GP - Vacuum Heating Line
Hi Folks!
I'm new to the forum, so apologies if this is the wrong place! Does anyone have any diagrams or photos of how the vacuum lines of the HVAC system work? Currently trying to restore my car and I can't find and info on it at all - and there aren't any lines left in the car (so I cant even copy them!) Jake

Welcome aboard.
I'll keep an eye on this as well, since I need to do my '63 (I assume it is the same). K

Worst case I'll have to reverse engineer it all, but thats a lot of effort to simply be able to turn the heat off!!

You best source might be a 64 Pontiac Heating Ventilation and AC manual. It would show you what you needed for your specific application. Try someone like Bishko Books. I have manuals for 61 and 62 but 64 might be different.

Having a look at the 62 diagram would at least be a place to start

You didn't say if you had AC. But here is some of both. The hoses have a color stripe down their length. Helps keep them straight after they go through the firewall I went to an art supply store and got paint markers like a felt tip marker. Put one end of a uncut stock hose in a vise hold it taught and carefully run the marker along the hose. Makes a very believable factory stripe.

Thanks so much Pfilean, I really appreciate the scans.
It looks even more complex than I was expecting! Thankfully my car is a non-AC car, so I have a feeling that will cut down on the complexity a bit. Great tip too!

Yeah - the no AC is simpler. It is the sketch with only three vac hoses.
