These should be used as a pattern for reproduction of them in stainless. Unless CPR or somebody else is already doing that?

Default gusher tubes

Are there any suggestions on removing them. I have tried several times and cannot seem to get them to move. Billk

I pulled mine out with a pair of duck-billed pliers and a lot of gentle shaking. If I were to try it again I'd fill the water jacket with a citric acid solution, let it sit for a while and the try the pliers. Be gentle.

X2. With NOS originals, replica's could be produced fairly easily and sold at a reasonable price.

Brought this up again to illustrate one point. In Post #3, the post says that 60 ponts didn't have reverse cooling. That is true. But the 1960 heads have a lot of casting similarities with the earlier gusher heads (1955-1959). You can slide the gusher tubes in a 1960 head with no problems. I tried and it worked. Larry Gordon @PontiacSafari.com gave me this nugget. Now I can use my 60 heads on a 58 Pontiac engine. Add the gusher tubes, water elbows on the front of the heads.

1961 heads have some remnants of the reverse cooling system as well - there's an opening on the front of the head that's filled with a freeze plug. Don't know if they can be converted or not, though.

I don't know about the 61 style heads but I've got 1974, #46 heads on my 57 block [bored .125" for 370 cu in] and the tubes don't fit. Drove the car all last summer and had no overheating problems.
