1963 Power steering box
A buddy of mine is looking for a power steering box and pitman arm for a 1963 Pontiac Catalina. He is converting this CAT to power steering, Don't know what interchanges, so we are replying on the Pontiac community. Thanks... Mike

Don't have anything, but perhaps other similar Buick. Chev and Oldsmobiles would work. '61 - '64 timeframe. Local yard had (past tense) a '63 Olds Holiday, but it, and the remaining old cars were crushed last fall.

I have a '63 quick ratio power steering box I bought new probably ten years ago and never installed in my car, with the pitman arm. I need to dig it out of my stash and also look up what I paid for it to come up with a price. If interested give me your or your friends email address in a pm and we will move forward with this. I no longer have the box it came in but it is new never installed in a car.

Lots of information & mis information on the web.
Basically any '63-'68 F Body & B Body will interchange. Maybe back to '59. In '69, they introduced variable ratio steering & these interchange but have a different feel that some believe is an upgrade. And a '69-76 F body will bolt in and give an improved feel. My 67 2+2 had a '79 WS-6 box that I really liked.

I still have my stock steering gear from my 63 Catalina. I believe it was 4.5 turns lock to lock. I don't have the pitman arm though. You can have it for price of shipping. I don't think it leaked. Was a California car.
