Default Felpro Gasket Set

I am looking on the Felpro website and I see the following full gasket sets listed for Pontiac

HS8518PT
8518PT
FS8518PT
KS2616
260-1025

Does anyone know what is the difference between these sets and which one would you recommend? This is for a high performance street machine with iron heads. Thanks

HS is Head Set
FS is Full Set
PT has something to do with the composition of the gasket material

I have bought 2 full gasket kits from Summit. One is a standard build kit, the other is the performance version. The performance version has the better 1016 head gaskets and RA IV intake gaskets with the blue strips on one side. There may be other differences that I did not pay attention to.

PT stands for PermaTorque - when they introduced this line of head gaskets (many, many moons ago), they advertised that they did not need to be re-torqued after the first heat cycle.

We've always re-torqued them anyway......

Yes!
The KS is the same as a FS set, but come in a plain box, engine builders use them, they are usually cheaper, and don’t contain all the extra gaskets that you don’t need.

The 260 set is the same as the KS set, but that is a Sealed Power number, still same Fel Pro stuff.

The am thing to make sure of, is that the set you select has the correct intake gaskets, the heat riser holes are different depending on year.

Thanks for the great responses that is what I was looking for. Does anyone know what the compressed thickness is of the Felpro 8518PT head gasket?

The Felpro 2806 is the High Performance full gasket set, which includes the .039" compressed thickness High Performance 1016 Head gaskets and the Printoseal 1233 RAIV sized Intake Gaskets.

The 8518PT head gaskets are said by some to measure around .043-.045" compressed thickness, and do not have the pre-flattened steel wire ring around the bore like the 1016 does.
