Default Chrome wheel trim ring option on a 1970?

I'm looking at a PHS doc for a 70 Formula and it lists trim rings as one of the options. On the window sticker it lists P06 Chrome Wheel Trim Rings. However, no where does it list Rally II wheels as an option. What other wheel had trim rings?

I guess it could look like this. Steel wheel, hub cap and optional trim ring ?

GETRIDAONE's pic would be correct.

Yep. I've seen a few like that. Standard wheel and poverty cap, with optional trim ring. Attached a pic of another one - original owner car that shows up at the T/A Nats occasionally.

Back in 73 a friend was looking at a new base firebird. It had poverty caps and no rings. He hated that so in order to make the deal the dealer threw in a set of rings. It helped a little but two paychecks later my friend had enough for a set of cragars. We all thought that looked cool. Now, to see the car 40 years later, many woud probably prefer the caps and no rings.

The longer I look at that 1 owner car with those "poverty caps/ring" wheels, the more I like it.

Thumbs up

You know, I sure got a lot of compliments on my 70 with those original caps and rings on her! It did look pretty tough!

I decided to move on and am selling them now if anyone is interested. Sold the steel wheels just this past week to another member here!
