January 15 1970 on that 902. It’s highly desirable if you own a 70 T/A , that back half is as desirable as the front. Nice find it should bring $500+

Thanks Bob. Much appreciated and getting on with things again. Lots of Pontiac memories thats for sure.
SD73 and Norwood. I have been looking at 927's. Picked this up along my scouting but will hold it for now as their are some things i will hopefully trade on down the track. We have a new tax here in Australia on all imports that is 10% on the item even shipping is included in this tax. We were exempt under $1000 before but not anymore so trade is a good option to reduce cost. And i am happy to hear if i am on the wrong path also so don't be afraid to let me know. Dates a little early for mine 27th day of May 71 which I am guessing would be for 71 or early build 72 cars.
My cars build date is December 72 for the 73 model year so something 6 months earlier would be ideal but I have this for now and might be able to swap it down the track. Have a few local friends with early cars so you never know it may suit someone to swap it out. Michael Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk |

That's actually the 21st not the 27th. Check out the 1 compared to a 7 and you'll see what I mean. Not that 6 days makes much difference...

Something Grand is headed my way and it is worth posting here as I am sure many would be interested in whats been happening.
6 months ago an SD 455 caught my eye because of its early date code. E241 May 24th of 1971. There is a Partial VIN Stamped on the block and I was able to obtain PHS to verify what it belonged to . The VIN is not my vehicle but this Motor came out of the GM Proving Grounds where an ex employee Rick Annis who was able to obtain it in the early 80's. There are some interesting parts along with this motor. One of them that has been verified is the Camshaft. Whilst Packing I sent the camshaft off to Rocky Rotella and he was pretty excited to have his hands on it. He did his homework and photographed and documented it and has put up a blog so news will start to trickle out. https://www.pontiacv8.com/blog/2022/...320-k-camshaft Rocky was able to verify this as the K code camshaft with the part number 480737 on the back and the T stamped at the front to show the 041 Camshaft. He returned it to me and its in the crate and has arrived in Australia and is awaiting unloading and clearance. The Intake will be an interesting Piece also. When it has arrived and I can unpack I will document it all but wanted to share with you what I know. I will share the PHS also. It has been hard to say nothing and this is something i wasn't expecting to come up but was an SD 455 that will compliment my car nicely. The motor has been rebuilt 18 months ago and was setup at 9:4-1 from memory and put out 463 hp at 4500 RPM. It's healthy. As always I have been busy. Not sure i can say the word Ford but had to do a rebuild on a Clevland 400 and get it back on the road at the same time so alot has been going on and no time to stop. It was one om my Late Fathers cars and was a priority to see her back out and on the road. I will probably start frequenting more. I know I have been slow to do much but direction has never changed. Life was busy but finding time again and thays a good thing. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk |

Did it have an engine code on the front of block?
If so what was it? Distributor hole large? Cool find for sure.

The pic of the date code on block has the rear of block having the gear setup for SD blocks. Not sure if RA V blocks had it though.

Hi John,
Yes it has a Partial Vin at the front of the block and i was able to get PHS on this Vehicle. I will share the PHS and VIN. The Motor is in transit to me currently so I wanted to check it over first and Rocky will be doing a write up on his Blog on the Vehicle so I am happy to let him do his part first. Rocky has put in alot of time in emails etc helping me out. In the whole packing and shipping process we were able to get the Camshaft out for Rocky to document and photograph before having it returned to the motor so Rocky has had time to Blog that. It has the large distributor hole in the block using a RAIV Cam with the larger camshaft gear and small distributor gear with a sleeve on the distributor. |

I can update on the motor as its now been published on Rocky's Blog but this engine came out of the 1973 Grandam. Using the Partial VIN on the front of the block I obtained the PHS from Jim and it returned the information fornthe vehicle. It carried an X in the VIN to denote the SD 455 also.
VIN is 2H37X3P100039 Rick Annis was able to save this engine and take it home and he always knew itwas something special but he didn't know what. It was great to be talking with Rick about the motor's history, the camshaft and hopefully that Pre Production Intake that was used on the test vehicles. The Engine when rick decided to rebuild it had 2 Pistons frozen and it wasn't in the best shape but did a rebuild at with Dennis Maurer from Maurer's performance. It was run in I have been excited but Patient on this one and now having clearance from Quarintine and Customs I should be able to get it home early this week. I Can't wait to get it out of the crate.. once I get it out I will get some more photos. Here is a link to Rocky's Blog also and a copy of PHS. https://www.pontiacv8.com/blog/2022/...nd-am-produced |

This has been a very exciting unpack to finally get this and physically unpack it. Its taken 6 moths of planning and waiting patiently but all went well.
