I had read that the fuel pumps which were crimped/pressed on cannot be rebuilt.

FYI, the metal lines where the rubber fuel lines attach are threaded into the housing, and therefore can probably be adjusted to point in different directions.

Vacuum advance canisters are crimped & multiple thousands have been rebuilt for use by "little guy" distributer rebuilders. Have pulled many an AC cast, as well as original stamped numbered NORS pump out of an old Airco box in parts buyouts. There is old school tooling to take the original Unitac pumps apart. When rebuilt years many years ago, a new cannister & diaphragms were installed, then crimped.

Calling Cardone tommorow about rebuilding original AC fuel pumps will post my findings .

Got this from Summit the end of December for a 71. It was in stock then. Compares very well to the one we took off the car which was a Delco piece. Outlet lines up perfectly with pump to carb line.

I did. I questioned that when they emailed the order confirmation but they sent the pump I needed. I'll get a pic later today.

Well I’m not one to question Steve but I’m seeing that MF0013 is a Chevy pump. But I’m guessing Matt is going to let us know.

The MF0013 is a Chevy pump. If you look at the blow-up pics from the Summit ad, you'll see an ink stamped #M6101. This is an old Carter/Federal Mogul ID number. Looking that up in an old Carter catalog shows numerous small block Chev applications from 1970 - 85.

Craig, when I received the order conformation it was just what you post in your picture, a chevy pump. I called Summit and they said they were aware some pics do not show the actual product being sold. When I received the pump it was a match to the Delco pump that was on the Trans Am we're working on. However, I did take a look at a 70 at home last night and realized what came on this customers 71 was actually a pump for an A body rather than an F body. Talked with him this morning and he's fine with that but it is not exact to what should be on a 70 or 71 F body. I apologize for the confusion.

lwy (laughing with you). I lost all faith in parts stores years ago when I had bought 2000 HD2500 and went in to get some maintenance items air filter etc... and the guy working there told me they didn't make an HD2500 in 2000 and that I was wrong on the year of my truck. I said I think I know what I purchased and own. he wanted to argue and I went outside got the window sticker out of the glove box and showed it to him. he was like a deer in headlights and said how can that be my computer says they didn't make it.

Yeah, I'm sure we all could tell stories similar to that. If it's not in "the computer", it doesn't exist.

It reads like SD455 says it's the right pump, but Terry says it's a chevy pump.

Which one is it?

Is our only option to get Fred to rebuild them (@ something like $240/ea)?
