Default 1970 dark saddle armrest

My firebihas been I family since 76 and thos is my question. My original arm rest is leather and has a dark saddle color pattern. I seen an 81 dark saddle firebird with same lid. they are different than black for sure and like to know history and years behind the lid and where to find 1 in.good shape for my 70 formula 400.

1970 Saddle interior color is not the as the dark chocolate color used on the dash assemblies & consoles in '81 "two tone" interiors. The '81 color is much darker, have also parted several 70 Birds with both Sandalwood & Saddle interiors. Up until an old friend bought a new '83 Z-28 I regularly worked on his loaded '81 SE Turbo with that color combo interior. Also have had two 81 Bird partscars with the light Pimlico pattern seats & dk chocolate dashes & consoles.

Leather was never used in any 70 second gen interior. If it’s leather it’s not original

Default Dark saddle lid

this is my lid came with car and had car since 76. I assume it's stock but I might be wrong. We bought car used and I. thinking that original owner bought it off showroom floor and it was used as a display model.

Without a doubt that is NOT a factory original console lid. They were ALL vinyl in '70 regardless of the color.
Your best option is to locate a black one and dye it to the brown you want.
