Smile New here. New owner

I've owned a few Camaros.
78 Type LT
83Z28
71 RS(bought for parts)
Currently own a 73 Type LT(basically a parts car)& a 73 Z28, plus a 79Z28(both projects) & a 2010SS2. Hey, at least that one runs, lol. I just picked up a 1970 Formula 400. Goldenrod yellow, Medium Sandalwood interior. Turbo 400 trans, A/C car. Van Nuys built. Early build date(O2A). So far I can't figure out how to post pics from my phone here. I know! You need pics of this. Sorry. I'll work on it tonight. Very original car. Original owner until around 2013. Original owner documented everything thru the 70s. Car has protecto plate. Original window sticker. Maintenance records. Numbers matching drivetrain. 98k miles. Only 400 since 2007. I'm the 5th owner. It's changed owners 3 times in the last 14months. I'm guessing a repaint at some point & front spoiler & fender flares were added. Maybe a rear spoiler then too. Or dealer installed when New? Sold new at Westward Pontiac in Phoenix Arizona. I have a few questions. Hopefully get the picture thing figured out. Shouldn't there be Pontiac lettering in the drivers side of the front grill?

Looks like this:

I've never used a phone on here.

On laptop, I use the Post Reply under last post on the left.
In that window, there is a Attachment section where you can upload a pic.
Then submit the post.

Welcome here!
I have found that posting from a phone causes the site to rename (and resize) images to use the same name - so you can only post one picture per posting from a mobile device.

Posting from a computer is much more accommodating.

Rear spoilers were not a factory option for any Firebird in 1970;
They came standard with the Trans Am, but were not optional on lesser models.

Spoilers were able to be purchased from the parts department, but odds are no non-TA 1970 Firebirds were sold new with a spoiler installed.

Spoilers and flares are things which were often added from the 1970's forward, and surprisingly, they are often added to this day.

There should be a "PONTIAC" emblem in the drivers side grille;
There was a recent conversation HERE about them.

Still can't get pics figured out. Downloaded tapatalk app. Now when I log in in goes thru tapatalk. Go to reply, hit on photos, files. Says to pick a source. Hit gallery, brings up all my photos, click on the one to send. Then it will say "status code 200. Download failed. No app to handle that action"

Unfortunately the forum software requires moderator approval for images for a while with new members. This to combat porn spammers. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you download thumbnails using the ‘manage attachments’ feature while posting this might bypass that I’m not really sure.

If that’s the case I’d be able to see your post and I don’t see any new posts with pictures.

Anyway carry on and I’ll keep an eye out.

Are the front seat belts a 3 piece setup? I only have the part that is hanging from the roof. Is there a clip that holds them up by the headliner? I know the 70-73 camaros had one. Surprised there are belts missing as original as this car is. Rear belts are complete.

Came with a whole folder of records from its original owner. Seems very original. I noticed it has the original vented gas cap.Click image for larger version

Wow! Congrats on the new ride, you’ve landed a nice original one there I’d say! Lots of good documentation as well!

I’m sure your pic posting problems are due to high resolution pics being to large. Screen shot pictures are much smaller storage size. With my iPhone pics I just email them to myself and select medium size and then resave to my phone for easy uploads to this site. A few steps, but works every time!

I’m actually adding both front & rear spoiler to my 70 Formula restomod, love that look!

If I was to restore this car, which I think I should. its a very worthy candidate. It has some rot in the rear window channels, trunk pan, & lower rear valance from sitting outside & the rear window leaking. But if I do that, I probably wouldn't put the front spoiler & fender flares back on it, but I would leave the rear spoiler on it.

Here it is as it sits in my garage. Out of the elements as the Ohio winter isn't far away. Guy I bought it from only owned it since March, but it sat outside since then. It was inside last winter, but I think it was outside for 6 or 7yrs prior to that in Tennessee. The leaking rear window took its toll on the rear of the car, but it can still be savedClick image for larger version
