I'm in the Philly area and need a drive shaft for a 67 GTO. I converted my 67 LeMans to a T400 and the shaft is too long now. can be reached at
302-229-7805 if anyone has one for sale.

Check the yellow pages in your area. Several companys rebuild or build new driveshafts at a reasonable price.

I did that swap once and then had a Driveshaft shop cut and balance the original shaft to the new required size.Worked just fine.Did you have any problem refitting your center emergency brake cable after the 3speed trans was in place??
Jim.

I found a place that will shorten the drive shaft for about 60 bucks, he wants to know whether my T400 is a long tail or a short tail. How do I tell the difference? The T400 came out of a 1969 Gran Prix model J.

All you have to do is measure the distance from the rear of the transmission to the front of the rear end and he will be able to make it the proper length from that. Balancing is required.
