Default 1962 Tri-Power linkage Question

I posted this in the big car section also, wasn't sure where was best for this one.
I have a 62 Catalina with a 1965 Tri-power installed. Yes, it is a cobbled-up deal and I am trying to straighten it out and get it working properly. I believe I have everything straightened out except the throttle return spring location. I have looked at every factory manual from 1961-1966 and thousands of pictures on-line and I can't find a consistent picture of where the spring attaches. Does it go on the complex ballcrank linkage somewhere and not to the carburetor at all? Does it go from the lower hole on the center carb lever to a post on the manifold with a hole? I just don't where the hell it is actually supposed to go to be correct. The second issue I have is I am not 100% sure the linkage currently bolted to the intake is from a 1962. The firewall mounted parts are correct but not sure about the rest. Just can't find any good pics anywhere of what is right. Any help is appreciated. Wish it was a cable like a GTO. Super simple compared to this mechanical monstrosity.
