Default BJ Auction

Shelby Mustangs are bringing $400k and the Judge convertible barely hits $100k. I wish someone would sell a nice Judge at this auction; that car looked that a roach. I'm convinced that good Pontiacs sell privately.

Looks like a couple nice 69 Judges coming up. Lot #1363 Sat. and lot #1569 Sun.
I agree that convert was a nice car but not nice enough. To many little details that should of been fixed up.
Shelby's>>>>>> Just a note I passed up buying a 67 GT500 drivable running car back in 1984-5 because the add stated $500.00 OBO but the guy wanted $5000.00. OBO
Thought that was toooo much for a Ford Mustang Shelby that needed a little work.DUH

I saw that Espresso brown 69 judge go, except for the peeling paint on the endura it looked fairly nice, $47,000 I think. Then when I saw the Batmobile recreation go for some thing like $200,000 I believe you guys are right B.J. doesn't do Pontiacs justice.

It's funny you mentioned Milton Robson. He is great guy he don't live far from me. But that is what BJ is about the super rich. We are on a whole different level than those guys are on. Don't get me wrong I'm sure most of these guys are great people, Milton is a self made multi millionare he started selling produce out of the back of his truck in 1965 and built a empire in the food service business. I don't know about ya'll but I hope I never throw money away like some of them do. It just makes it one more step to making these cars where the average guy with a 40 hour week job and a family can't afford muscle cars.

Did I read it right: $1M dollars for the first 2009 Corvette??? Was it anything special besides being the first???
Guess what it will be worth when the 2009's come out??? Less than a new one!!

Bragging rights I understand, but over $900K over regular list is insane, no???

Seller of the Brown Judge claimed could be the only one built with Colour combo.I know of another locally. I think he was probably disappointed with the number.

I agree. even though it was the first 2009 ZR1 (600 hp) Corvette, but still hardly worth $1M in my eyes, considering the MSRP will be arounf $100K next year (that's not including all the price gouging by dealers).

If it makes you feel any better, if you had taken that same $5000 and invested it in MSFT when it went public in 1986, you'd have close to $1.5 million in the bank.

this is the first time i was able to watch the Bj auction for any amount of time, I was sick on the couch with the flu the last few days, talk about being sick of corvette's and mustang's! they sure milk carrol shelby for all he is worth, I hope they make it worth his while for what they make off of the sales linked to him, another sad part is when the 69 carousel red judge conv came up for sale it was a RA 3 car with a RA 4 engine and the announcers could not ever explain the difference between a RA 3 & RA 4, their best answer was they had different camshafts and that the hood scoops were plastic on ram air cars, they pushed that thing through pretty fast they obviously could not care less about rare pontiacs of this era. they also said 70 judge conv was the most desirable cause there was a little over a dozen made! obviously they must have meant 71 judge conv's but they were not even close on that one, they did have it correct that 108 69 judge conv's were built! Then to have to sit there and look at craig jackson and all he could say was this car is selling way to low about every other car, that guy makes me want to puke (again), after watching this and their other show life on the block I would never ever take my rare pontiac there for them to sell and make 18% of the sale 10% buyer 8% seller a guy could advertise it anywhere and do better, i would have to say mecum looks like the best place to sell a rare gto! on the other hand the buyer got a steal on the 69 judge conv, yes the car had some issues but with a little elbow grease a guy could put it back to correct without a ton of money and have a solid investment, i saw 2 gto's sold yesterday anyone see more than that?

I see that Sat Judge which they didn't show Lot# 1363 went for 87,000. Why they didn't show the car makes me mad. Again tooo many Vettes and Camaros as usual.

That Pink Lady is one FINE car. Under the hood is just awesome.

The 50k Brown/Gold one (42k +18% ?? I guess) could have done better on eBay. Appeared to be a really nice III/4spd Judge.

The second one (orange) 52k was "about" right price - maybe a tad bit high.

The 87k orange 69 was quite a nice example and seems about right money.

69 JVert was the bargain. Like the 70 IV White promo Hdtp last year.

Goofiest = Tony (Nascar) Stewart paying 120k for a modified 67 GTO Hdtp. Seller had to be Very Very Happy with that money.

Next goofiest = 1980 Turbo 301 TA 63k (VS.) Real Nicely restored 70 TA III/4spd 50k - WTF !

Most Righteous = 66 GTO Vert 130k was strong strong money.

Monkee Mobile went 360k !!

Link to ALL Pontiacs so far:
http://www.barrett-jackson.com/appli...earchSc08.aspx

Looks like one more 69 Judge and a 67 GTO Vert are all that are left to go across block.

This last 69 Judge doesn't appear to be as nice as the 87k unit, but nicer than the 52k unit.

BJ is definitely not the place to sell a Pontiac especially a GTO, the prices that they pushed for others cars is ridiculous. They have yet to really showcase a nice GTO and hyp it up like they do to the Shelby's. It seems like when the put a sob story behind a vehicle or some rich butthead gets in a bidding war thats when the prices get out of control. I can't stand watching this auction for more than ten minutes at a time but it is addicting. I find myself going back to the auction even though I say I'm not going to watch it anymore. The family that sold the 1970 GTO got robbed 35k was a steal for that car.

motor29 hit the nail on the head. I agree that is one brutal way to watch your baby go, and then you have to pay them for the service of getting screwed!

I saw that Judge today. It went for 61k. The car was a beautiful frame off restored, original sheetmetal car. However, the guy had NO documentation to prove it indeed was a Judge, For the cost of a PHS to prove it, that car would have gone for 75K. my guess it was a clone.

So Tony Stewart bought a 67 GTO? Good for him, I hope he likes it as much as I've enjoyed mine for thirty years. Now Nascar C.O.T., and Toyotas in nascar? just cruise the goat Tony.

was for a charity benefit. Price is a moot point. Bidder upped his own bid. A class act in my book. Ron
