I am converting my car over to the ralley gages from the idiot light setup. Do I need to change the interior dash harness as well as the engine harness? Thanks in advance, Steve

the engine harness should be the same. if they 1st gen birds are like the 69-72 a bodys you can switch 2 wires in the dash connector and the gages will work. you'll need to find a schematic for the guage / non-guage printed circuit boards and compare them. mike

After removing the electrical connector from the old cluster, look at it. There are numbers 1-6 on the top and numbers 7-12 on the bottom. Switch number 5(Tan wire) with number 7(Brown wire). To remove a wire, go from the front(the side that plugs into the cluster) and insert a small screwdriver under the pin to release the tab that holds it. Be sure to expand the tab out before replacing it into the new location. Thats all that is required.

Thanks for the info. I'll try that on the original harness. -Steve
