A good book is the updated 1964-1972 Pontiac GTO Restoration Guide by Paul Zazarine & Chuck Roberts.
It has information on trim tags,VIN numbers, engine codes, head codes, rally wheel codes and so on! This may not be the Best numbers book, but it is a start and has lots of other helpful information in it!Most of us have several different Pontiac books that we use as references,so it is a combination of several different books that we use! GTO.....Gran Turismo Omologato,True Pontiac Excitement!

Pete McCarthys book have alot of great # crunching stuff as well. More in depth& more years. Has alot of great Interesting info. Does have a few mistakes but most are corrected near the back of the book. Pontiac resto guide is good too but it has several mistakes in it. Post the #s you need checked and I can check them here as well.

OEM G70-14 tires...
Could get either Goodyear or Firestone for '70. '70 asm manual & possibly the '70 sales bulletins would indicate what other suppliers there were. In '71, the Polyglas Goodyears were not avail at 1st of production. Will have to find my asm manual. Do remember there being 4 different suppliers for '71. Firestone Goodyear Uni-Roy-Al can't remember the last one

Two books come to mind for being best:
(A) Pontiac Master Parts book (expensive) (B) Pontiac Quality Assurance Inspectors Guide (this book was printed on unobtainium!) Jon. Good carburetion is fuelish hot air.
