Fellow forum members,
I just purchase a 1969 numbers matching hardtop. With the purchase, I received PHS documentation that verifies all components are correct except for the exhaust manifolds. It states that the manifolds are PMD part #'s, but not for GTO. The p/n's are 9776922 (R) & 9779092 (L). The car is very original with 86,000 miles and I believe these actually came from the factory on the car. I've heard stories in the past where GM runs short of parts and does swaps on the assembly line. Could this be a possibility in my case? Any knowledge from those in the know is greatly appreciated. Regards, Larry Metzger Columbus, NJ 1968 GTO Verdoro Green Hardtop

One other bit of information. Manufacture date was the fourth week of September 1968 making this a very early 69 model.

Since you are posting in the Judge Tech, I'm assuming that this is a Judge. The correct exhaust #s should be 9791637 LH & 9799720 RH for a RAIII engine. The number that you posted (9776922 RH) is correct for a 1969 non-RamAir as well for the '70, '71,'72 400/455 non-RamAir & non-HO, but I don't have any idea where the other number came from. Since it wasn't from a GTO I'd bet that it was replaced after purchase at some time.
I have a friend that had a 100% points 1967 Corvette Roadster, 427/425. It was one of the first '67 built. It had a 1966 emergency brake warning light stock from the factory. He'd go around and around with some judges on that one. |

Are you sure you're in the right topic? If you're asking about a Judge with a build date of the 4th week of September,'68 It's definately not a Judge. The earliest build dates were Jan '69.

My Mistake!
I need to repost in the 68/69 forum. This isn't a Judge. Thanks, Larry Metzger Columbus, NJ 1968 GTO Verdoro Green Hardtop
