Vince, did you just try lifting up on the seat back??

I believe that the boot just slides out of the channel on the back of the seat.

Steve, I tried lifting up on the back but it didn't move, although I figured out that the boot shouldn't be a problem. Thanks.

Thanks.

That sounds like how the Tempest convt seat back comes out (there isn't a pocket at the bottom of those wire frame bottoms on the Tempest but otherwise looks kinda like that. The Tempest has just a screw/washer going thru the bracket into the floor.

If I remember correctly, the seat back didn't want to move on mine either. I had to pound on it pretty hard driving the whole back up along the trunk divider. Try it on one side first, pry & pound it up, maybe even hit that wire loop with a drift rod or something to release it from the pocket. Once one side starts to move it should loosen up and you can see what you need to do.

Thanks for your input, Tempest. I'll definitely keep your suggestion in mind when I revisit this issue over the weekend.

[QUOTE=Heybuck;4924230] Method to remove it is to and at the same time grasp the bottom of the seat and lift it straight up. The top of the seat hooks over a small bracket. Pushing it back towards the rear of the car allows the seat to slip upwards]

After putting pressure under the loop in the bracket using a prybar, and employing Heybuck's suggestion ("push the seat top at the package tray level BACK"), I finally was able to remove back of the seat. I really appreciate all of your input and assitance. Thank you!

Pleased to hear it worked out.

I was in Bangkok all last week and while I could read the forums on my I-Pad, I didn't have my password with me so I could log in to congratulate you.

And NO, I wasn't there looking at the "lady boys"!!!!!
