Same for the 67 column shift GTO....went to commercial and it was sold upon return. Under $29k

Not a good start for Pontiac coverage and I see the MOPAR leanings.
Same for MUSTANGS.

Send them an e-mail - speed2@lgpinc.com

Here's mine:

Dear Speed,

First let me thank you for the coverage you are giving the collector car hobby with your broadcasts from the Barrett Jackson auction. It's great to see the cars of our youth and our dreams cross the block and receive the attention they deserve - which brings me to my point.

Pontiacs are conspicuously absent from your broadcasts.

I understand the economics of television and I'm sure you want to show every car, but you have to "pay the light bill".....however, last night, during your first night of coverage, not a single Pontiac crossed the block during coverage. The most notable (and desirable) being the 71 Judge - I waited hours for Lot 100 to come up, wanted to see your comments on the quality of this rare and desirable car - and instead, got a commercial. We did however get to see every Ford Mustang, the Shelby's and the 6-cylinder cars, the Camaros, every Road Runner/Super Bee/GTX - even the tribute cars, but not the 455HO/M-22 GTO Judge.

Tonight there are expected to be some rare and desirable Pontiacs which will come up for bidding - I would hope that maybe you could find a more opportune time to cut to commercial than when these come up for sale.

Thank you,

Chris

BJ posted sales price is the price on the auction block plus 10% buyer fee. Seller pays 8% and is deducted from the auction price. Buyer also has to pay AZ sales tax of approximately 8% if an Arizona resident. Out of state buyers are exempt.

They allready have their schedule of comercials lined up. NOthing will make them chage the way they broadcast at this point. I dont really know if its delibrate or not, we'll just have to wait and see.

I did just get finished watching the 06 broadcats over the new Years weekend and after watching many hours of it and driving the family nuts, I didnt see one Poncho roll through.

If you looked at the pics of the column shift GTO, and I think it was a 66, and read the description, I think 29K was plenty for it. It looked like a car that needed a total resto to me, and it wasn't a very desirable copy at that.

That may not be exactly true. I'm sure they have the commercials lined up, but notice that sometimes you will see several cars without a commercial, and then see just one or maybe 2 and then they go to a commercial. I believe that if they want a particular car to show, then they will hold a commercial up until it goes under the hammer. JMO

the posted prices include both the 10% buyer fee and the 8% seller fee

(that 68 GTO sold for 35,000 but the BJ site lists sell price as 41,300 (which is 35k + 18%)

I don't understand how they can get away with clipping the buyer for a fee -- Try that on Ebay and see what happens to the sell prices! I could see hitting them for a set processing fee or something but how do they justify (and get away with) it!? That GM bus that sold for 4M, That buyer had to pay an additional $400,000 to BJ for the privilege of buying it off their stage?!

The value of a service is that which people are willing to pay.

Why do people pay thousands of dollars to sit in unconfortable seats for a few hours when the can watch the superbowl for free on TV?

That being said there seems to be a lot more money than brains out Scottsdale way right about now!

The reason they went to commercial was because of the GT500 top seller for the day went down right before the Judge. Seems pretty simple to me just like any other live broadcast that has to get their commerical $$ in.

Anywho, the 77K judge was White and that was before the 18% or whatever it is...

I watch BJ every chance I get and I'm yet to see a Judge on the block. I complain to my wife thru the whole telecast about "no Judges" and she says shes tired of hearing it. Last night I did the same thing everybody else did....sit there and wait for the 71 then.......................commercial. She laughed and I went to bed.

Well the 69 should go across around 9:30p ET tonight... You'll hear me scream if they skip it. Last year they covered a couple Pontiacs, whoo.
