1959 389 4 bolt main block
I have a 1959 389 4 bolt main block for sale. This would be a fantastic foundation for either an early build, or a higher HP build using a vintage Pontiac block. This is as strong a factory block as I think you'll find, and it's begging to be built! It does have a sleeve in the #7 hole, but appears well done and solid. Depending how you build it, you may not need to resleeve it. Also, there are a couple 'notches' that have been cut into the bell housing mount flange, but they don't hurt anything. Just wanted to make mention of them. The pictures below show the notching.
The crank is included, but I'm not sure it's one you'd want to use. Looks like it's had a few issues. Anyway, the block and crank (etc) is discussed in detail in this thread from a few years back. Please take a look if you would like more detailed info on it. http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=711628 I bought it several years ago from a fellow PY'er for a project I'm no longer pursuing, so I've decided to let it go. I'm not exactly sure what it's worth, but being as it's a fairly solid foundation, I'll start @ $300. I'm open to offers. Again, this is for the block and crank only. Thanks.
