Does anyone know the difference in sound between the round dynomax ultraflow or magnaflow muffler and the oval versions? Is one louder than the other? I have Dynomax race magnum oval mufflers and they are just too quiet, which one would be louder? It's an all stock 71 GTO engine.

SG, the rule of thumb is this. Whichever has the largest volume of sound absorbing material will be quietest in the high frequency ranges and somewhat in the lower as well.
The round ones will be louder if they are the same length. But, don't forget the inside diameter of the pipe. The Welded UltraFlo/RaceMagnums have 3" cores and others may not so remember to note this when comparing. Tom
