Looking for a battery that will sit in the stock tray.

I like to be traditional and get the stock appearing from Antique Auto Battery. Not cheap but they turn over a 421 with 12+++??? compression with a minnie starter great. Had the last one for 7 years.

Default junkyard

My cars are not factory, I just get the batteries at Pick-A-Part. I get there early, llok for one that is about a year old and has 800 or so CCA. If it isn't to my liking, I get 30 days to select another.

I like to convert my cars over to a side terminal battery. I never liked the top posts on those old Batteries. On a 63 Lemans the "+" terminal is way to close to metal on the core support and the edge of the LF fender. Great place to short out your batt cable if you are in the habit of laying tools across the top of the core support! Don't ask me how I know!!

I buy batteries with both a side post and a top post connection setup. Makes it easy to switch one over to start an "old" car every now and then.

Default Tempest Battery

I prefer Deka brand battery. I use the side terminal for a 79 Grand Prix in one Tempest and a top terminal (same size as the GP battery) in my other.

Thanks for all the brands,I'm after something that would drop in exsisting space/tray and have the CA needed. The 26R looks like the one.

Sears has a PLUS START 26R and the good thing is the + is on the inboard side.
Hopefuly it will fit the bill.
Thanks again
