I didn't realize that the '61 Tempest was a "full size sedan" with "FWD"...

In this part of the country that could bring $3,500.

The sellers says this fits a 1961 Tempest. I am sure someone could use this if they can't get their toe-in set just right: "Tempest Idler Arm Take Up Kit NEW"

Default $3500

http://lasalle.craigslist.org/cto/5306216684.html

For sale is a 63 Pontiac Lemans. It has a 326 engine 4 barrel carb and a 3 speed manual transmission. Car runs, lot drives and stops. The car sat for a while due to a blown up rear end, I changed it and started to do some body work on the car.I replaced the trunk lid with a solid one, bought a 4 dr donor car and changed the front clip. the quarters still need work. The floors and trunk are solid except for right around the shifter. There is ZERO bondo on the front end ....

If the top is good and it appears to be what it is represented to be ... it could be a nice find. We all probably know fast it is to sink $12K in a Tempest!

This one is listed up again with a new add.

EDIT,,, The more I look at these pictures, I realize this is the 63 Vert. I looked at many months ago that was listed here on Craigs. The car I first saw had all the fender spears glued on with constructors cement. The rear valance was very rusty & had been bondo'd on then it had been torn loose at the bottom & was just flopping in the wind. It was a 4 cy 1 bbl auto car that needed major restoration. I looked close at all the pictures I had from before, same tears in convert top. same color interior/ carpet. Same car.

WOW!!!! Don't know what this guy is smoking!! Had it listed for 12K,,, now he wants 22K!!!! This car was first listed for 2500 when it had the 4 cyl in it. Adding a 389 & putting shocks on it doesn't add up to a 19.5K raise in price. Still needs a total restoration & has a 389 on a 4 cyl drivetrain.

For a LeMans, not many options. I see upper & lower trim packages & bumper guards, windshield washer & that's about it. No PS, radio delete, pretty bare car.
