Default 67 Sprint 6 LeMans Fuel Pump.

Gentleman,

Here a few photos of my current fuel pump, do not know if it is the factory original or not but would like to replace so that I know exactly what I have. Would like to replace with the best quality option. Engine is factory stock, three speed manual floor shifted w/ A/C. Thank You for any and all advice.

Jeff I'm pretty sure your looking for a 40596 pump '67 4bc w/AC.

Note the taller inlet on the pumps pictured below.
It looks like you have a 40494 1bc pump on there.

It will work I ran one for a few seasons before finding a correct one for the '66.
I think it is maybe a 1-1.5 psi less then the 4bc pump.

yes thats a good pic of return line
sometime in mid year 67 they changed the return to be in the pump.
Yours is in the filter. Ive had 3 others like that and one with line on the pump.
I repro the fuel and return lines if you need any
Ill look and see if I have any NOS pumps
otherwise use whats on it now.

Thanks guy's for identifying what I have. If either of you have the correct pump I surely have interest so please let me know. I would not mind replacing the original lines as well. I will do so when I can come up with the correct pump. Thanks again for your Nancy Drew detective work.

Arrow Pumps

Tim,
I have GM 40508 pumps, this is what I use.
This would work on yours as well since both are 230s
They have been inside stoarge but due have shelf wear and could use a wipe.
They are in perfect working order.

The 2nd pump I show is a "rebuildable" Capac unit looks almost stock but best part is they can be serviced/rebuilt unlike our sealed GM pumps

If you look at that pump you will see the addition of the return.
I think this is the "2nd design" Cammer refers to.

If your '67 is an early build then the fist pump matches what you should have unless someone cut/caped and/or removed the return line which was used on the later OHCs w/AC.

PM if I can help further.
Cheers.

66Sprint6 & Jeff, Thank's guys for the leads and moments ago I clicked on the link 66sprint6 provided and hit the "buy it now" for the 40596 pump. Jeff, when it arrives I will give you a report on its functionality. If it fails to work I would like to purchase one from you but seeing that this one on ebay was the correct number you said that I needed I figured it would be best to just grab it given the opportunity. Thanks to everyone who has stepped up to help me out. Great place, great friends with a wealth of knowledge. Thanks Guy's.

that was a great buy
Ive paid much more than that for NOS Delco pumps many years ago
keep that working pump as a spare in ziplok in trunk, they are easy to change on roadside if need be.
