Got my Amazon 562's in the mail today. Like dataway, I had to adjust the contacts on it to fit more snug, but it's in there and it's LED and doesn't heat up to the surface of the sun temperature like the incandescent 550 did. Color temperature isn't the same as the old warm white, but it's not like it's on with the courtesy lamps to notice the difference. Lights up the rug below it decently.

Looks nice ... and I can tell your plastic is not as yellowed as mine is.

How white do you think these were when new? I have two of them. A spare & the one in my car. The spare is yellowed on the surface, the other is still a little yellow, but the color is consistent throughout the plastic. Not all that yellow, but for sure not white.

If you look at the inside surface on either side far from the bulb you can get an idea of how white. On mine it kind of appeared that the plastic was breaking down below the surface too .. trying to polish it doesn't seem to work well. Like most things I think there may be considerable variability.

I bought a NOS one for fullsized cars (ribbed outer surface but otherwise the same). It was in a still sealed box and it was almost as yellow as grubby old ones I had, surprising.

I bought it hoping I could get more light on my ragtop with an NOS one. On 69-70 fullsized ragtops they are the only light in the front half of the car (no dome or footwell lights like on the closed cars or Tempest and Fbird convertibles that have foot well lights.

Someday I'll get a 3D printer and try to make up parts like that.
