I still bet that the code would apply to something that pertains to the Tempest style and not the GTO.

From what I gathered if the accessory code were listed for a GTO it would also apply to a Tempest - in other words, a code 4H for a GTO wouldn't mean something different than it would for a Tempest.

Firebirds appear to use many of the same codes. It appears that some of the same codes even go across Divisions, and I saw the accessory code scheme referred to in multiple places as the "Chevrolet" five group accessory code system.

I was trying to suggest it may be on the order of the 5N on the GTO's. No Tempest would have the 5N code.

I thought possibly the Sprint option had something that the others would not have, certain badging possibly?
But if there was a GTO with the 4H it would not be that.

(my thinking on the frame was GTO would not have 6 cyl mounts, but frames would not be a Fisher item,thanks to Keith for that)

This is correct;

I believe John's point was that if there wasn't interest in decoding for those "favorite son" vehicles then the decode would also not exist for the "lesser" Darksiders.

I should perhaps mention I'm away on vacation this week.

I can check my reference materials when I get home.

That makes sense, I wasn't following, apologies! I am no expert, just thought it was an interesting topic. You'd think that somewhere there must be documentation. You do see some of the codes, like 5Y deluxe seat belts, going across multiple models and even divisions, so maybe somewhere there will be something that helps with 4H.

I just checked Eric's book and there is nothing there.

I don't think we have enough detail on Jeff's car to figure it out here.

We'll need to wait for a car that has both the 4H on the data tag and more complete paperwork (window sticker, build sheet or billing history card).
