I know he wrote some fairly detailed reports on the special color order process. K

That would be great, Keith.
To my taste, the most important question is “why?”, what was the driving force for the pink? Keeping up with Ford’s pink 67 Mustangs? Playboy? Nancy Sinatra’s car creating buzz? Mods? I really think this needs Lobby exposure, since Pink Mist and the other three colors were across the whole Pontiac line for ‘68. There’s got to be more to this story. |

I cannot verify this but had a interesting conversation with a guy who claimed to work for Pontiac back in the day in what sounded like a product planner role. In 2020 I was moving and holding a garage sale. He noticed the 3 Pontiacs in my garage and proceeded to tell me about a special order (possibly a fleet order) for Playboy magazine for 67 Firebirds in Pink. I did see a 67 GTO locally that when stripped for painting had Pink as what looked like its first color. I believe it had SPEC on trim tag.

One of the PY Members who attended Mecum , and saw Pinky in person ,
said the car was actually not all that nice overall. Even used the words - sort of rough looking. Maybe its heading for an eventual frame off with the new owner |

Yes I looked it over. A lot of surface rust on underhood components you don't normally see rusted. A/C POA valve , brackets etc. Seems it was stored in a very humid environment. This is not the first dance at Mecum for this car. It has been there at least once before maybe twice. I saw it there a couple of years ago. It was very loaded car. Hopefully someone will give it the love it needs.

I looked the car over. After I saw the Trunk floor rusted through and Duct Tape painted over with Splatter Paint, I saw everything I wanted to see. Power Windows were inoperative. From what I have read, Sinatra's car had Pink Leather Interior?
