I'm falling victim of the GD Facebook crap, so went to "2015" version.
Anyway, once again Keith, you are correct it seems. Not the first mistake in these Pontiac Mag articles, but they are cool anyway. There are (6) Wagons. Here are some great articles on these amazing cars, the 3rd one attached is on the Wagons. https://www.supercars.net/blog/1963-...21-super-duty/ It states: "Four were destroyed and a fifth was recently found minus almost all the distinguishing special factory equipment, making the car in the article the only complete example in existence. Along with the Union Park SD station wagon, it has been a central piece of Dana Mecum’s collection of rare Pontiac factory racers. It was sold at Dana Mecum’s 2010 Original Spring Classic Auction for $455,000 USD." And: https://www.motortrend.com/features/...20by%20Pontiac. More with Mr. Jim Wangers.
His inside story on how the GTO came about, as told in Pontiac Mag Oct 1982. Fact - or some fiction? |

Mike found a few remainders of the x-400, from what I can remember, when I last viewed the Text that went with these photos, the Vehicle was used year after year by the factory and they changed the front and rear clips to suit and showed the car as is in the year of display. The person who rebuilt this Car could not find the original Motor and it too changed from year to year. I believe he had to custom make some parts using 3-D printing.

I remember a guy, at the local bar, driving a Gold Firebird TA , doing Doughnuts' and burnouts in the empty parking lot, late at night. Below on the Banshee, Delorian should have made the Roof removable and then inserted it into the Trunk manually. JMO. Last edited by TRADERMIKE 2012; 04-13-2022 at 05:29 AM. |

I had to read this two times; this is my favorite of your articles so far. Photo number 2 is how my car will look someday on the next paint job. 1979 Pontiac TA: |
