Recently purchased a 66 GTO resto project. I was not counting on my rear being bad. Unfortunately, I am now looking for a 8.2 rear that will fit my 66. Either a 3.36 or 3.55 is fine. Something that needs rebuilt is fine too. I had planned on replacing the auburn posi unit in my rear and redoing all the seals/bearings etc, until I popped the cover and saw my pinion gear is a chipped up mess. Also noticed an old repair on one of the control arm ears. So at this point, I think its better just to look for a rear thats in better shape than mine. I live in Southeastern PA and occasionally travel to north jersey for work and central (Penn State area) and south central PA. Also down to Norfolk VA as I have a kid going to Old Dominion right now.
