Default Hood hinge Issue or something else??????

So ive had the car painted and the hood adjustemt is not right....
I've talked with Craig (Norwood) about the hood and the latch issue I also have ...I've ordered a latch ....
My biggest concern is the hinges ...I now have the rear hinge bolts at the top of the slot so the hinge is down in the rear .....the problem I'm having is the hinge seems to not want to allow the hood to close down to the core support ...it's like the hood stops and I'm have to force the hood down I'm afraid of buckling it if it's not already maybe....
The frt of the hinge adjustment slot the bolt is also at the top of the slot...so frt and rear bolt position is in the top of the slot...
It's like I'm fighting against the hinge as its like it won't fold together enough to let the hood close????
Hinges were rebuilt By Willie Wilson in Virginia
Anybody else had this issue ??????...Chris

On my Lemans they were very finicky. Try moving them a bit in the other direction. They are deceiving how they work. If your at the top of your slot, move the hinge upward and that will bring the front down.

Are the bumper stops in the rear pushing it up? Do they need lowering?

just a guess but looking at the video the hood in the rear seems like its actually sitting too low, which is from or related to how the hinge is adjusted, you said the bolts are at the top of the slots meaning the hinge is pushed all the way down & when you are trying to latch it, its lifting the rear of the hood up as you noticed.

the common thing on these hoods is that they sit up too high in the rear so people lower the rear of the hinge to improve or fix it... yours might have the opposite thing going on where the rear of the hood is too low how its currently adjusted, so as mentioned above, try raising the rear of the hinges some, maybe halfway & see what that does. can always go back to how it is & cant hurt to play with the adjustment of the hinge some. maybe youve already done that but thats what it looks like in the video.

& i noticed the car is a firebird but has a T/A shaker hole, couldnt tell if it was a formula hood with a hole cut... is this a clone T/A or are you gong for the "chips ponch" firebird hood look? or the SD forumla with a shaker look?

Well in 1970 ( one year only I believe Craig said ) they used a 10 catch and after that they went 3 catch latch..
If u look at the latch from this pic the lower left pivot is the piece that rides against the catch which has 10 notches in it, it sits behind the safety catch.
This making the hood closing have more adjustability with the extra notches..
This piece is top notch….Norwood does awesome work…..and great to deal with…..
